Effectiveness is doing the right things. Efficiency is doing things right. Timing is probably one of the distinguishing characteristics of the excellent company and a good measure of their secret lies in understanding that 80% can be accomplished in 20% of the time at 20% of the cost. They move fast and quick because they know the secret, but the real secret is that that 80% has to be done 100%. The also rans take too long and with a much larger investment.
